This piece got finished ahead of schedule since it was my open carry-around-with-me project, I started it on my family trip for Thanksgiving and as the holidays continued so did the butterflies. I feel sort of guilty uploading it while everything else on my plate is still waiting, but it was just the project at hand that didn't require the computer in front of me. Would you be surprised that stitching during family hangouts isn't frowned upon, but having the computer open is?

There's some changes made to this design, as I always do. The major one was removing some pink (!!!) to replace with yellow on the centermost butterfly, the one with the orange and purple. The pink just looked... absurd, I'm sorry. I didn't like it so I changed it. The second most obvious change would be some added sparkle, the butterfly in the lower right didn't have any sparkle (...? Why?) so I went ahead and added some in. The rest of the changes are minor but frequent, which is to say they're all over the place but I wouldn't know how to point them all out to you. These are tiny things like moving a backstitching point up one square or removing/adding a stitch that looked out of place.

I don't do a lot of work on printed fabric but I'm pretty pleased with this design's use of it. It gives it a lot of texture that would have been a major pain in the butt to add otherwise. The kit also had a disclaimer on it saying, "these aren't real butterflies, just the artist's imagination!" So there you have it.
